Unit and Currency conversions

To convert units or currencies:

  • Select Conversions from the Applications menu

  • Select the conversion from the resulting list.

To perform a conversion

  • Enter the known value into the corresponding unit field

  • Tap the spacebar key.

All values will be updated simultaneously.

To edit a currency conversion

  • Tap the Edit Currency button.

  • Enter the new label and or rate.

  • Tap the OK button.

Specifying the exchange rate

The rate you specify is the exchange ratio from the base currency. The base currency normally (but not necessarily) corresponds to your local monetary system and has an exchange rate of 1.0 The other exchange rates are expressed as fractions of that base rate.

ie BaseCurrcy = ForeignCurrcy x rate

Example: US based rate form.

US dollars is the base currency and has a rate of 1.0

1 $US = $NZ1.60 and so the NZ dollar has a rate of 1.6

1 $US = 0.62 pounds and so the UK pound line has a rate of 0.62
