Step 1. Save the GoType! Driver to your Desktop
After the download has completed, the GoType!
driver will appear on your desktop.
Step 2. Disable previous GoType! Driver
Important:
The current GoType! driver
must first be disabled before upgrading.
If
you're using GoType! driver 1.5 or later

you're using GoType! driver 1.1 or earlier

Step 3. Delete GoType! from your handheld
The GoType! driver will not function properly if
installed over a previous version of the GoType! driver. It is therefore
required that any previous GoType! drivers be deleted.

Go to the application list on your handheld
(house button)

Tap the Menu button
on your handheld (button below the house button)

From the menu, tap Delete. A list of
installed applications will be displayed

From the list of applications, tap GoType!.

Tap the Delete
button
-
The GoType! driver has now been removed from
your handheld
Step 4. Install the new GoType! Driver
Windows Instructions

Click the Windows Start button at the lower
left-hand corner of your PC
-
Select Programs > Palm Desktop > Install
Tool
(Franklin Planner owners: select Programs >
Franklin Planner > Palm Install Tool)

Select the correct user name from the "User
Name Dialog Window.
Note: If you do not choose the correct user
name, your software will not be installed onto your handheld

Click the Add button (or Browse
button, if you have one)

Click the Look in drop down menu and
select Desktop
-
Select the GoType! driver that you downloaded
in Step 1

Click the Done button (or Install
if you have one)
-
Perform a HotSync
-
Software installation is now complete
Macintosh Installation
-
Open your Palm directory from your Hard Disk
-
Double-click the HotSync Manager
application
-
From the HotSync menu item, select
Install Handheld Files
-
Click the Add to List button
-
Select your Desktop, then select the
GoType! driver that you downloaded in Step 1

Click Open
-
Close the Install Handheld files Window
-
Perform a HotSync
-
Software installation is now complete
Step 5. Enable the GoType! driver
-
Power your handheld off
-
Place your handheld onto the GoType!
keyboard
-
Power your handheld on
-
Tap the GoType! icon on your handheld
-
At the top will be an ON and OFF
selection. The active selection is displayed in
black. If not already selected, tap ON
-
The status should change to Enabled,
awaiting input
-
If the status becomes Enabled, no
keyboard detected, follow these
troubleshooting tips
Step 6. Start Typing!
You are now ready to type with your keyboard. GoType will allow you to
enter text into any Palm OS application that accepts Graffiti input.
Simply tap a field in the application where you would like to enter
text, and start typing!
